Amphibians of Mindelo highlighted by National Geographic

Our team member Bastian Egeter has been mentioned in a National Geographic article for his participation to an expedition to an area near the CIBIO-InBIO research center, the Litoral de Vila do Conde Protected Landscape and Mindelo Regional Ornithologic Reserve.

The in-depth reporting that resulted from this reveals the research carried out there by CIBIO-InBIO researchers, including the one by Guillermo Velo-Antón,  that has been studying the Fire Salamander population in Mindelo, but also, together with Bastian, supervises Master student Sara Peixoto’s work focused on amphibian detection using environmental DNA from waters samples.
