Summer academies are part of the planned activities under the scope of WP6 of the EnvMetaGen project. Two different events have been proposed, to be held in Portugal on the third and fourth years of the project, and their successful organization corresponds to project milestones. The summer academies will address challenges in environmental metagenomics, and its application to ecological and environmental science.
The first of these events, entitled “7th DNA metabarcoding Spring School” was held in May 1-5, 2017, and organized by the EnvMetaGen team in collaboration with our partners from Metabarcoding.org. The 2nd one is organized together with the EMBL-EBI and will take place in May 7-9, 2019.
