DNAqua-Net WG3 Meeting

The COST Action DNAqua-Net Working Group 3: Field & Lab Protocols workshop took place on December 17, 2018 at the CIBIO-InBIO facilities in Vairão, Portugal. It preceded the event “Mainstreaming molecular approaches in national environmental monitoring programs of aquatic ecosystems and biodiversity”

It was a pleasure for us to host such an interesting meeting!

The meeting was dedicated to “Macroinvertebrate Metabarcoding” and out of the 38 participants, many were from the EnvMetaGen team: Pedro Beja, Ana Filipa Filipe, Aina Garcia-Raventós, Nuno Fonseca, Filipa MS Martins, Joana Paupério, Bastian Egeter, and Sónia Ferreira. During the meeting a structured discussion was initiated with the aim to identify potential molecular methods for freshwater macroinvertebrate community assessment and identify important knowledge gaps for their routine application.
