Widening Days, Brussels, Belgium

On October 16th 2018 Nuno Fonseca, the ERA Chair Holder, attended the annual session on the Widening Program organised by the European Commission. This is a one-day networking event that allows ERA Chair awardees to interact with each other, and learn more about this capacity building program.

Several subjects such as the sustainability of the project after the end of the H2020 funding, how to attract excellent human resources, and what improvement can be done to the ERA Chair funding scheme into the new framework program Horizon Europe were discussed through the day, and several recommendations were made by the participants, making this event an excellent opportunity to have insight about this funding scheme and contribute to its improvement in the years to come.
