From the 24th to the 29th of June 2018, we will be attending the XIX Conference of the Iberian Association of Limnology that will take place in Coimbra, Portugal.
The Iberian Association of Limnology (AIL) brings together research specialists with different backgrounds on biology and ecology of inland water organisms, and encourage the dissemination of studies on management and conservation of aquatic ecosystems.
Filipa MS Martins from our team, as well as associated members from FRESHING project, Ana Filipa Filipe and Aina Garcia-Raventós will be presenting their work under the new special session on “The use of molecular tools in ecological and biodiversity assessment of aquatic ecosystems”. The aim of this session is to provide an updated and broad perspective of the current developments in this fast-developing field, across the Iberian Peninsula and elsewhere, and promote the knowledge interchange and discussion about future research directions.
Three oral presentations will be made: “Delineating freshwater monitoring networks using eDNA metabarcoding”; “Improving freshwater biodiversity assessment: application of molecular tools on preservative ethanol from macroinvertrebate bulks” and “Multiple introductions and first record of Phoxinus phoxinus in the Douro basin revealed by molecular data“.
Hope to meet you there!
