Porto Water Innovation Week 2017
The “EIP Water Conference 2017”, organized by the European Innovation Partnership (EIP) on Water took place this year in Porto City, on the 27-28 September 2017. This was the 4th edition of this conference, and it brought together some 1200 people under the theme “Water Innovation: Bridging Gaps, Creating Opportunities”.
The event allowed to discover innovative solutions to address major European and global water challenges, and at the same time, market opportunities for these innovations, both within and outside Europe. The programme also included “WaterMatch” matchmaking, a B2B event giving the opportunity to meet face-to-face companies and policy makers operating in this area.
Monitoring of freshwater eDNA is one of the application areas identified in the EnvMetaGen proposal, therefore, the event presents an opportunity to learn more about the technologies addressing this issue, and to engage with companies and stakeholders in the area. Sandra Aresta, the KTDO of the project attended the event and the B2B. She had the opportunity to have several B2B meetings and to identify interesting initiatives, in particular of public-private partnerships in the area of water innovation, that will be explored and contacted to gather best practices for the Corporate affiliates program.
