DNA-Barcoding Course in Paris

From the 5th to the 9th of March 2018, we were attending the course “Integrative taxonomy and taxonomic expertise: DNA barcodes in the genomic era” that was held at the Museum of Natural History in Paris, France.

Sónia Ferreira and Luis Martín González spent one week learning the best practices for building DNA reference collections of voucher specimens identified by specialized taxonomists as themselves. This will improve our work with the reference collection of invertebrates being built within the EnvMetaGen research projects.

This was also an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas and discuss lines of research and possible collaborations with colleagues from several countries, in particular Spain and France.
