A training visit to the French Alps

Filipa Martins has just returned from a short stay (November 13-17, 2017) at the LECA laboratory at the University of Grenoble in France. After meeting the LECA team members at the 1st Summer Academy, this stay extended the interaction with the French group through a visit framed within the Capacities Development work-package of our project.

During her stay at LECA, she had the opportunity to learn more about their optimized metabarcoding protocol for processing numerous samples (with the help of a pipetting machine displayed on the picture) and to discuss methodologies for a better PCR performance and library preparation.

This visit allowed to increase the collaboration between EnvMetaGen and Pierre Taberlet’s group and to improve our protocols for processing aquatic macroinvertebrates samples.
